Among our staff are paraoptometric assistants who provide a wide assortment of technical procedures which aid in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of the many eye diseases and disorders. Our frame display includes fashion eyewear as well as safety eyewear and sports goggles. Our professionals provide tonometry, corneal topography, fundus photography and visual field testing. We work with refractive surgeons by co-managing the latest PRK and Lasik refractive surgeries. From the standpoint of understanding your eyesight problems, we provide the necessary education to help you take better care of your own problem. Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness today-- Our staff and doctors have extensive training and knowledge in analysis and proper management of this destructive disease. Recent studies show that the risk of blindness may be reduced up to 56% if diabetic patients have regular eye examinations, so it is important to keep up regular appointments.

These are just some of the quality services we bring to you at the Florence and Reedsport Eye Clinics:

Intraocular pressure (Glaucoma)
Blood pressure
Visual field test

We prescribe and evaluate all major brands of soft and ridged contact lenses. Additionally, we prescribe custom designed contact lenses for special needs as well as special eye problems. Specialized fitting may include Monovision, bifocal contact lenses, astigmatism contacts and Keratoconus. We have experience in modifying and polishing contacts. Our staff are able to answer many of your questions and are available for ongoing contact lens instruction and training.

Our optical laboratory has the latest in equipment to not only fabricate your glasses, but to maintain and repair them should they become broken or damaged. We are able to tint, coat, harden and edge spectacle lenses. We are able to provide you with any frame or lens design that is found in the world. Our highly qualified optician and staff is able to adjust and fit your glasses to you for maximum comfort and vision.

Eye Surgery

Our office provides surgical services such as Cataract surgery, Laser surgery, refractive surgery and strabismic surgery. We offer this on a co-management basis in conjunction with Bay Eye Clinic eye surgeons and Peace Harbor hospital. Additionally, we have working arrangements established with other specialized eyecare doctors to manage such things as retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemorrhages. We provide these services under a co-management program with affiliated doctors. You, the patient, benefit from the cooperative and combined efforts of doctors working together on your behalf.

Low Vision Services

People who have lost eyesight due to injuries or eye disease need special types of products to help them function as independently as possible. We offer a full range of these products through our office and through our Web Site under the "OnLine Shopping" section. Our paraoptometric staff are trained to demonstrate the use of some of these devices. They range all the way from a simple hand magnifier to a closed circuit tv system. In addition, we can direct those who have low vision problems to products that will help them carry on the day-to-day tasks which they are needing to perform. In some cases we can set up a program for the low-vision patient with the National Library of Congress to receive "books on tapes", which is a service for the blind.

However, there are so many different companies and so many different plans within each company, it is difficult to know all the allowed fees.
